DigiGuide TV Preview

DigiGuide TV Preview is a small application used to test some of our core technology. As time passes we will add more and more functionality into Preview to make it comparable to current DVR products available.

Our intention is to make the core technology work very smoothly. We'll then integrate it into DigiGuide and our other planned products. We encourage anyone with TV tuner hardware to try this technology preview and let us know how you got on with it.

Right now it supports some basic functionality like viewing Live TV on your computer or broadcasting it over the network. We encourage anyone with appropriate hardware to download and install it. More information can be found in the readme.txt file that is installed.

Features Overview

Watch Live TV

Live TV can be viewed either in a window or fullscreen

Record live TV

Live TV can be recorded to a file using either a hardware encoding TV tuner card or a software based card

Pause live TV

Live TV can be paused using a hardware encoding TV tuner card

Pause Live TV using software cards

This allows any TV tuner card to be used to pause live TV

Use any third party encoder to pause live TV

This allows you to alter the disk space and CPU requirements depending on the encoder you use

Broadcast live TV

Live TV can be broadcast over a network using a software TV tuner card

Picture in Picture (PiP)

Using multiple TV tuner cards you can have picture in picture

Pause is independent from Capture

You can Pause while capturering

Switch back and for between Live and Paused TV

You can pause live TV at a certain point but you can then toggle between watching live TV and the point at which you previously paused it

Supports multiple TV cards

Picture in picture, recording and pausing all operate independently on each device

Capture using any third party encoder

You can choose which encoders you want to use

Clipping Live TV picture size

You can alter the size of the displayed picture to cut off anything you don't wish to see

Limitations

• You need a TV-Card
• You need Windows XP (SP1) (or Windows 2000 but you'll miss out on functionality)
• You need DirectX 9 and up
